Curated by Amanda Pfister, I have been invited to exhibit work that speaks about alternative narratives about women’s bodies and sexuality. The female sexed body is often narrated as taboo; it’s messy, complex and often a source of derogatory and demeaning stereotypes. My work in this show is from the Paperface-Interface series, using material, process, and referencing classical, historical depictions of women. My work communicates desire, the ephemeral and the body, boundaries that are ambiguous, unfixed, and uncertain.
